Samuel William Johnson

1830–1909

American agricultural chemist. Studied with Justus Leibig in Munich and Edward Frankland in Manchester. Professor of analytical chemistry at Yale, 1856–96. Campaigned for an agricultural experimental station in Connecticut, which was established in 1875.
