Philanthropist. Née Jackson; a niece of Julia Margaret Cameron. Married Herbert Duckworth (1833–70) in 1867, and Leslie Stephen (as his second wife) in 1878. Rejected Christianity and first became interested in Stephen through his articles on agnosticism. Frequently requested as a model by artists because of her beauty. Signed a petition against female suffrage, 1889.
