Charlotte, queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and of Hanover

1744–1818

Born Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Married George III in 1761. Mother of fifteen children, to whose education she paid great attention. Developed an interest in botany, and sought out the company of learned women.
