Miller. Baptised at Elston, Nottinghamshire, son of Thomas Dixon, miller, and Sarah Sumner. With his father, Thomas Dixon, leased Broomfield Mill, Essex, from 1772. Friend of Erasmus Darwin, CD’s grandfather.
