Sacheverell Chandos-Pole (1807–1813)
1769–1813
Landowner. Son of Elizabeth Darwin by her first husband Edward Sacheverel Pole. Stepson of Erasmus Darwin. Matriculated at St John’s College, Cambridge, 1787, but did not take a degree; admitted at Lincoln’s Inn, 1790. High sheriff of Derbyshire, 1793–4. In 1807, assumed the additional surname Chandos, by royal licence, in honour of his ancestor Sir John Chandos (d. 1370; ODNB). Of Radbourne Hall in Derbyshire.
