Julian Goldsmid, 3d baronet

1838–96

Politician and philanthropist. MA, University of London, 1861. Fellow of University College, London, and called to the bar, 1864. MP for Honiton, 1866–7; Rochester, 1870–80; St Pancras South, 1885–96. Vice-president, Anglo-Jewish Association, 1871–86; president, 1886–95. Chairman of the Russo-Jewish Committee, 1882–94. Succeeded his uncle, Francis Henry Goldsmid, to the baronetcy in 1878.
