Edward Corbett
1817–95
Army officer and politician. Son of Panton Corbett of Longnor Hall, Shropshire. Ensign, Fifty-first Light Infantry, 1837; lieutenant, 1839; retired in 1844. Lieutenant-colonel of the Shropshire Militia from 1855. Conservative MP for South Shropshire, 1868–77.
