Zoologist and surgeon. BA, Cambridge (Trinity College), 1877. University curator in zoology, 1877. House physician and assistant demonstrator in anatomy, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London. Ophthalmic house surgeon to Henry Power. FRCS 1884. Founder of the Southampton Free Eye Hospital, 1889; surgeon and later consulting surgeon there. Captain, Royal Army Medical Corps, during World War I. Ophthalmic surgeon to the Guernsey Victoria Hospital.
