Jane Maria Strachey (1859–1928)
1840–1928
Suffragist. Second daughter of John Peter and Henrietta Chichele Grant of Rothiemurchus, Scotland, and sister of Elinor Colvile. Married Richard Strachey in 1859; they had ten children. Friend of Millicent Fawcett and George Eliot and member of the National Union of Women’s Suffrage Societies.
