Wilhelmina Barbara Traill
1786–1862
Niece of John Sinclair, eleventh earl of Caithness. Adopted by John Sinclair’s fiancée Mary Salter Dehany (1740–1832) following his death in 1789 just before their marriage. Inherited Hayes Place, Hayes, Kent, and some West Indian properties from Dehany in 1832. Mistress of Hayes Place for the rest of her life.
