Joseph George Rosengarten
1835–1921
American lawyer and philanthropist. AB, Pennsylvania, 1852; MA, 1855; studied in Heidelberg, returning to the US in 1857. Major in the Union army in the American Civil War; on the staff of General Reynolds at the battle of Gettysburg. After the war, practised law in Philadelphia. Member of the American Philosophical Society, 1891.
