Adele Masi Lessona
1824–1904
Translator. Born to a family of Venetian merchants established in Egypt. Married Michele Lessona as his second wife in 1854. Translator of American and European literary and scientific works. Collaborated with her husband on translations, notably that of the Italian edition of the Descent of Man, which appeared under Michele Lessona’s name alone.
