Physician. Member of the Royal College of Surgeons and LSA, 1856. MD, St Andrews, 1860. Assistant physician and lecturer in physiology, London Hospital, 1863; physician, 1874–94. Noted as a scientific clinician and pioneering neurologist. FRS 1878.
