Rachel Eckersley (1884–1895)
1862–1934
Daughter of Henrietta Anne and Thomas Henry Huxley. Married Alfred Eckersley, a civil engineer, in 1884 and lived in various countries until his death in 1895 in San Salvador. Returned to London, where she ran a laundry business until her marriage to Harold Shawcross, when she moved to Lancashire.
